Requests board rules

The requests board is a public space where people planning events say what they need and members reply. These rules keep it useful, safe and worth reading. Posting or replying means you accept them.

The board is public. Anyone on the internet, including search engines, can read posts and replies. Never include personal contact details, addresses, venue security information or anything you would not want published.

Who can post and who can reply

  • Customers, event planners, venues and clubs can start a request for entertainment.
  • Agencies may start a request when they are genuinely looking for additional performers for a booking.
  • Professional and Premium members can reply in the thread. Starter members can read the board but not reply.
  • Entertainers may not start a thread looking for work, advertising themselves, or seeking to recruit other members.
  • The person who started a thread, and admin, can close replies at any time. Admin can remove individual replies or an entire thread.

Behaviour

  • Be courteous. Treat every poster and every member as a colleague, not a rival.
  • Reply only if you can genuinely do the job. Do not reply to every thread as a way of advertising.
  • One reply per thread unless the poster asks you something further.
  • Do not criticise, undercut, name or imply anything negative about another member, act, agency or supplier.
  • Do not pressure a poster for a decision, follow up repeatedly, or contact them privately when they have not invited it.
  • Keep discussion on the request. No off-topic posts, political campaigning or advertising unrelated services.

Language

  • Write in plain, professional language. Swearing, sexual content, slurs and insults are not acceptable.
  • Nothing racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or demeaning to any culture or community. Comments about a person's appearance, body or background are not welcome.
  • Do not harass, threaten, intimidate or shame anyone, publicly or privately.
  • Do not post anything that would breach the Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015.
  • Some words and phrases are blocked automatically. Others are flagged for admin review. Attempting to disguise blocked language is treated as a breach in itself.

Honesty and accuracy

  • Post real requests only. No fake enquiries, test posts, or requests made to gather pricing from competitors.
  • Give an honest budget range and an honest description of the event, including hours, location and what you expect on the night.
  • Entertainers must describe their own act accurately. Do not claim experience, equipment, credentials or verification you do not hold, and do not use images or recordings that are not yours.
  • No spam, link farming, affiliate links or referral schemes.

Privacy and taking things off the board

  • Do not post phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses or other personal details, either your own or someone else's.
  • Posters are shown by username. Real names are only revealed to an entertainer once a booking is accepted through the system.
  • Entertainers cannot message a poster directly. Private conversation starts only when the customer sends an enquiry or requests an estimate. Working around that, for example by asking to be contacted elsewhere, is a breach.
  • Do not copy anyone's post, reply or contact details off the board for marketing or any other use.

Moderation and consequences

  • Board content is monitored. Posts and replies may be automatically blocked, flagged for review, edited or removed.
  • Anyone can report a post or reply. Reports go to admin and are reviewed as quickly as we can manage.
  • Depending on what happened, we may issue a warning, remove content, suspend your ability to reply for 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or 12 months, or remove your profile from the site.
  • Serious breaches, including harassment, discriminatory language, threats, fraud or soliciting customers off the platform, result in immediate removal without warning.
  • Admin decisions are final. Membership fees are not refunded where a profile is removed for a breach.
